How will I know when you receive my deposit?
Your deposit is confirmed as soon as you hit “Send Payment”. We do not send any additional confirmation. (For checks, you will see it cleared on your bank statement.)
When and where will I pick up my beef?
We send out a reminder/confirmation e-mail one week prior to your delivery day. In that e-mail, we will give you a specific time and location to pick-up your beef. We ask that you please respond to the e-mail so that we know to load your beef onto the truck. If we do not receive confirmation that you will meet us, we will not load your beef onto the truck and you will be charged a storage fee of $25.
Can you tell me ahead of time how much I will owe on the Delivery Day?
No. We pick up beef from our butchers the morning of deliveries and see the weight of your boxes as they come off the truck, so we are not able to tell you your exact amount due until we hand you your beef.
For Traditional-style orders, balance is due upon pick-up and will be charged to your credit card on file. For CSA-style orders, we record the weights as we deliver each box. We deduct your deposit, and charge the balance due upon delivery of each box (based on the weight) to your credit card on file.
What if I need to cancel my order?
We understand that situations change, people move, and sometimes customers have to cancel an order. To cover our administration costs, we charge a $30 cancellation fee and will not charge you for the rest of the split-half if the order is cancelled before delivery. If we have delivered your beef and you are unsatisfied, we offer an exchange or refund. Please note: We do not do door-to- door deliveries and will ask that you return the beef to us in San Juan Bautista at a pre-arranged time for an exchange. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
How much freezer space do I need to store my meat?
A split-half takes up about 4.5 cubic feet of freezer space. That equals about one, legal-sized file cabinet drawer or 2-3 shelves of a standard side-by-side freezer.
Can you split up our beef into groups if we are sharing with another family?
We do not open sealed boxes from our butcher. Every cut is individually wrapped and clearly labeled, making it very easy for you and your friends to separate evenly when you get home to your own kitchen.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, as well as checks and cash. All transactions use a secure, 256-bit encrypted connection so you can be sure your data is safe. Your credit card number is not stored in our system, but is securely processed and payment is recorded.
What if I miss my scheduled pick-day?
Babies are born, work emergencies get in the way – we know there are other priorities in your life in addition to good food. Although these events can complicate your pick-up, we hope that you will do your best to meet us. Because we have pre-arranged delivery with our butchers and a full day of other customers’ meeting us, it is not possible for us to re-arrange our delivery schedule. If you can get a friend to pick up your beef, that would be best, otherwise we can store your beef in San Juan Bautista (for a $30 re-stocking fee) and deliver it to you on our next delivery day. We store meat at a cold storage facility, so do not have regular on-ranch pick-ups.
For more information call us at (831) 623-2933. Our “office” hours are often outdoors, so if we don’t pick up, please leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we’re back at our desks. You may also e-mail us at email@example.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!
