We are thrilled to be involved with Stett Holbrook and Greg Roden's Food Forward! project. They are producing a PBS television series about people who are changing the way America eats. Morris Grassfed, along with Randall Graham of Bonny Doon winery, and Santa Cruz fisherman Hanz Haveman, co-sponsored a kick-off dinner at the Cellar Door this month to promote the project and wish Stett and his family well as they take off on a four-month tour around the U.S. to promote the series. Dear Friends,
Spring is flying, and we hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather. This year we have had good rains; the grass is lush; and the grassfed cattle are fat and happy. (Billboard ads notwithstanding, it is definitely not the cheese: it's the grass!)

Many of you have sent in your orders, and for that we are deeply appreciative. It is a three year process of planning and management to bring Morris Grassfed beef to fruition, and your early orders really help us plan the move from ranch to fork, so we thank you. This last mile, as it were, requires lots of decisions based on animal and land conditions, the differences and capacities among the various butchers we use, and lots of logistics. Knowing that you will be meeting us on such and such a date in a particular location is critical. It also creates some important cash flow for our business and restful sleep for me!
Like any good business model, farms and ranches need to plan ahead in order to best serve our customers and work with our suppliers and vendors. Our butchers appreciate working with us because we strive to give them as much notice as possible about the number of animals we plan on bringing to them. This, in turn, helps them staff accordingly.
To date we have received orders for about half of the animals we have raised, so we are still looking for customers for the remaining magnificent animals. We are confident you are out there, and we would love to hear from you. If you have not ordered yet, please let us know your plans. We have updated our website, you can find our secure, online order form here. It helps us more than you know and constitutes the "support" in Community Supported Agriculture. We can't do it without you. Many thanks!
Sincerely,
Joe Morris
